Detox Diet and Sample Diets That Can Help You


If you had finally decided to try detox in order to cure yourself of chronic diseases, you have just made the right decision. However, detoxifying one's self is never easy. While there are many detox diet and sample diets available over the internet, it is best that you determine your physical abilities first before you heed even a single diet suggestion. Consult your doctor first to be sure.

A detox diet may span a single day, three days, or seven days. There are some diets that may last even longer. However, these are the most popular ones used today. The principle behind the single day detox diet is water fasting. Here, you are not supposed to take anything other than water for one whole day. Note that this diet may weaken your body. Unless you are 100% physically fit, don't follow this one.

On the other hand, the three-day detox diet is also referred to as the fruit and vegetable juice diet. In this diet plan, you are supposed to take only fruit and vegetable juices for the entire period of three days. Technically, there's no limit as to how much juice you can take. You can drink as many as your heart's desire. Water is also included in the program. In fact, it is strongly advised that you drink the regular eight glasses a day requirement when undergoing this particular detox diet plan.

While you can feed yourself with fruit juices, people with not enough stamina may fall short on the three-day diet plan. Keep in mind that only vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants are administered into your body in the entire duration of this diet. There are no carbohydrates to fuel yourself or protein to feed your muscles. Unless your body build is good, you should never go through this sample diet. This diet doesn't fair well with intensive physical activities either. You may not be fit for work if you're under this detox diet.

The seven-day detox diet is more ideal for people on the go and for those who wanted a gradual detoxification process that won't interfere with their daily activities. The seven-day detox diet allows you to eat almost anything that's considered healthy. The only things that are prohibited under this sample diet plan are preservative-laden foods, salty foods, sugary foods, and all others that can't be considered natural or naturally prepared.

Here are sample diets for the seven-day detox diet program:

Breakfast:

Fresh fruits
Wholegrain cereal

Before eating anything though, drink two glasses of water first. Do this right after waking up in the morning. Let your stomach rest for a while before eating breakfast. If you want, you can squeeze some lemon into the water. Have breakfast at least 30 minutes after. As suggested, your suggested breakfast plan is fresh fruit and cereals. A banana or an apple will do. As for cereals, make sure that they are made of wholegrain for easy digestion.

Lunch:

Boiled lean chicken breast
Half cup of brown rice or two slices wholegrain bread
A glass of fruit juice

During lunch you can take some meat, but only white meat. And they should be real lean to be acceptable. Boil the chicken breast on unsalted water. You can sprinkle pepper to taste. You can eat the chicken with brown rice or any wholegrain bread. These are much easier to the stomach than wheat bread or rye bread. Squeeze a tall glass of fruit juice to cap your meal. You can alternate chicken with fish on other days.

Dinner:

Steamed Vegetables
A glass of water

As much as possible, don't put any special seasonings, salt, or oil in your steamed vegetables. Just wash them, pare, slice, and put them into the steamer. If you bought them fresh from the store, they are sure to have a sweet distinct taste. That should be enough for flavor. Cook the vegetables for 15 minutes or so. Try to add as many vegetables from different food groups as you can. For example, add potato for carbohydrates, beans for protein, cabbage for vitamins and so forth.

Do this detox diet sample diets for seven days and see how much lighter you'll feel. This detox diet plan should be able to leave you with a much healthier body and with lesser toxins or impurities. A few days after completing this seven day detox diet, you can start all over again to maximize the effects.
